This session includes a presentation and dialogue regarding the impact of Mormon settlement on the native population. The presentation will focus on misinformation and trauma as it applies to native people and Mormon people alike. Misinformation has resulted in denial which has contributed to confusion and disillusionment among both native and Mormon people. This denial has also been used by the patriarchy to create a new story-line—or a new order—based on the values of the patriarchy. Presenter and attendees will discuss the possible outcomes of this new order and its ramifications for the entire nation.
