A Mormon In Exile: My Journey Into Another Religious Tradition

A Mormon In Exile: My Journey Into Another Religious Tradition The LDS Church does not publish statistics regarding how many of its members request that their names be removed from the records, nor how many members go inactive. Nor does the church take statistical account of those members who belong to, or participate actively in, another religious tradition, while still maintaining a foothold in the LDS Church. Anecdotal evidence suggests that, if the numbers of members in these categories are not rising, they are at least remaining steady. In 1993 I joined this group. In this paper I discuss some of the blessings and challenges that came my way as I made, and continue to make, the transition between the LDS religious tradition, and the Episcopalian tradition that I how call home.
