The text of Doctrine & Covenants has evolved in a manner that is comparable to organismal phylogenies. It was previously demonstrated that modern LDS and RLDS (or Community of Christ) editions represent distinct textual groups, which are also distinct from the Book of Commandments and earlier D&C editions. This study focuses on revelations printed in The Evening and the Morning Star and then reprinted in the similarly named Evening and Morning Star (without the definite articles). Differences, though sometimes small (but significant), can be found between what is printed in the former, and what is reprinted in the latter.
