Description
When is grace bestowed? Is it at the culmination of one’s efforts, or is it a foundational gift? Can Church members embrace the doctrine of grace, having their works be an expression of their gratitude for it? This paper examines whether the third Article of Faith requires revision to better align with a Christ-centered understanding of salvation and exaltation. It explores the term “qualifying for God’s blessings,” which may imply that exaltation is earned through works rather than experienced through grace. How might grace become the cornerstone of salvation and exaltation within the Church’s teachings? Would such a shift necessitate a rephrasing of the Third Article of Faith?
