Sunstone 50-year Time Capsule: Part II

Sunstone has been collecting weird Mormon stuff for a long time. For example, how many of you saw these in your grandmother’s house?

These resin grapes were a popular homemaking meeting project back in the 1970s. And I guess one of them found a home here. After many stops at Deseret Industries, I’m sure.

And this one brought back memories for me. You may remember the Trivial Pursuit craze during the 1980s. Well, the Mormons got right on board and made one of their own. And this was the only game my parents would allow us to play on Sunday. I wonder, did we use the Children’s questions? Or the adult questions?

Sadly, [58] this Mormon version of the game of Life was not yet released when I was kid.

So I never got to do exciting things like … uh, let’s look at this … reorganize a ward.

Or assign home teaching. or scripture study. Or, oh goodness, await scripture study. Maybe I was OK without this game.

Nowadays, Mormon kids get to play games like The Iron Rod, where the goal is apparently to get some … cotton candy with pearls on it?

Stay tuned for a look at some of the old Mormon publications that have been moldering away in our basement. I promise you haven’t heard of most of them!
