Sunstone is a nonprofit dedicated to hosting open forums of Mormon thought, art, and experience. We're one of the only places where fundamentalist Mormons, active Latter-day Saints, ex-Mormons, Community of Christ, and all other across the restoration spectrum sit side-by-side in the earnest desire to learn and grow. We engage with a spirit of generosity, curiosity, and kindness, and challenge all attendees to come with the intent to grow.

Sunstone events are open and welcoming to all with an interest in the conference schedule and Sunstone's mission.

EVENT FORMAT
Every Sunstone event is unique, but they all have the same mission: to learn, grow, and broaden our understanding of our shared restoration tradition.

The typical format of a Sunstone event includes a selection of academic presentations and community building activites. At our largest events, we have up to 6 sessions or activities to choose from at any time. Our smallest events might have one speaker at a time, with a museum tour or other activity for half of the day.

DRESS CODE:

Sunstone events do not have dress codes. We want you to feel comfortable and be able to focus on the content provided. Attendees typically range from casual to business casual dress.

Sunstone events and communities are a hub for all people on the restoration spectrum. Our events host active Latter-day Saints, ex-Mormons, Community of Christ, Fundamentalist Mormons, scholars studying Mormonism, and more. Regardless of where you fall on the restoration spectrum, there is a place for you at Sunstone.

Absolutely! All Sunstone events are open to those that find themselves anywhere on the restoration spectrum. Our events aim to give everyone an equal seat at the table. We believe that when we come together with an honest desire to learn and grow, we're all better for it.

Sunstone adheres to a Code of Conduct and Harassment Policy to help ensure the safety of our attendees. All attendees and speakers agree to abide by these policies.

If you have concerns about your privacy or any other concerns about the event, please reach out to info@Sunstone.org. We work hard to set the table and be good hosts, but our events aren't complete without a diverse range of attendees in the seats.

Sunstone is an independent organization, and does not have any official ties to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or any other denomination.

We welcome all faithful members, explorers, critical thinkers, and anyone else with an interest in broadening their community connections and knowledge of the vast restoration experience.

Sunstone UK is organized by Sunstone staff with the help of a team of UK-based volunteers. Volunteers work together with Sunstone staff to best create and implement events focused on UK voices. Sunstone volunteers are not official representatives of Sunstone, and cannot speak on behalf of the organization. Sunstone is funded by individual donors and event registrations. While we do occasionally accept sponsorships from other organizations and groups, these funds do not dictate Sunstone's aim or mission, and these donations represent less than 5% of Sunstone's total revenue. Sunstone has events all year! Our largest event is our annual Summer Symposium in Salt Lake City, Utah, but smaller events are a regular occurrence. Sunstone UK events are annual. See our current event schedule here.
