NOTE: CHANGE OF VENUE

Due to a scheduling conflict with our long-time venue in Salt Lake, the 2011 August symposium is moving to the  Weber State University campus in Ogden, UT. All symposium sessions and workshops will be in the Shepherd Union building at WSU.

We regret the inconvenience this change of venue will cause and are doing everything we can to make the transition as smooth as possible for you.

Meeting on a university campus makes many amenities available to you that we could not otherwise offer–including half day child care, the Union food court, grill, and convenience store, Starbucks, meals from top-notch campus catering, the on-site WSU Bookstore, inexpensive dorm accommodations, and comprehensive AV equipment and technical support in every meeting room.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

We have arranged to have a block of discounted hotel rooms at the Ben Lomond Suites Historic Hotel in downtown Ogden to provide accommodations for Symposium attendees.Rates are $87/night (single), $94/night (triple) and $101/night (quad), plus tax and includes complimentary breakfast. The guest rooms in our block have either one King or two Queen sized beds and are equipped with microwave, mini fridge, hairdryer, and coffee maker. There is complimentary high speed wireless Internet throughout the hotel.

Guests must book before July 20, 2011 to secure the discounted rates. To make reservations, call the hotel directly at (801) 627-1900 or call Choice International at 1-800-4CHOICE. Choice Hotel Members can earn points for their stay.

Other downtown hotels (Ogden Marriott, Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express) or hotels farther from downtown may also have availability during our event.

TRANSPORTATION

We are working out the details to provide shuttle service between downtown Ogden/25th Street hotels, the FrontRunner station, and WSU campus. We are also *assessing the need* for shuttle service between the Sunstone office in SLC and the WSU campus. If you are interested in this service, please contact our office (801) 355-5926 or info[at]sunstonemagazine.com so we can book services appropriate to the level of ridership expected each day.

There is UTA bus service between Salt Lake City and WSU campus, as well as FrontRunner train service from Salt Lake’s Intermodal Hub and Ogden. We also encourage attendees to carpool and ride share when possible.

*= Since public transit DOES NOT RUN on Sundays in Utah, please let us know if you would need transportation from Ogden to the Salt Lake International Airport on Sunday 7 August 2011.

We will post additional information about transportation services as it becomes available.

Is there a scholarship grant or discount program to allow out of state persons to attend the symposium? Thanks.
