Description
While much public discourse on faith transitions focuses on why people leave, fewer conversations address what comes next—the messy, beautiful, and deeply human work of rebuilding a spiritual identity outside the bounds of the LDS Church.
Drawing from personal experience as a devout Latter-day Saint, mother of ten, and Relief Society President who left Mormonism after 26 years, I will reflect on the unique challenges and insights that emerge in the aftermath of faith deconstruction. From the grief of lost certainty to the search for new meaning, this presentation traces the journey of rediscovering faith—not in an institution, but in a living relationship with God. For me, that path led to a deeper understanding of grace and truth through the person of Jesus Christ.
This is not a story of bitterness or blame, but of hope, resilience, and spiritual rebirth. It invites respectful dialogue about how faith can evolve after disaffiliation—and how it can flourish.
