Description
Across Jewish, Christian, and Latter-day Saint traditions, the fate of the Ten Lost Tribes has always stirred curiosity. Many Jewish scholars today lean toward the idea that the tribes were absorbed into surrounding nations and may never return as a distinct body. But within the New Testament, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the writings of early apostles, there are repeated promises of a future gathering—one that includes all the tribes of Israel.
Latter-Day Saints claim evidence and revelation promoting the return of the Ten Tribes from the “North Countries” seeing the gathering of Israel as one of the defining works of the last days. We believe modern revelation adds layers of clarity that earlier generations didn’t have.
Part 1 of this presentation shares the most intriguing pieces of Latter-day Saint tradition of a story that Joseph Smith shared with Brother Benjamin Brown and his wife while in Nauvoo. Joseph expounded on the Ten Tribes’ location, mission, and return in a simple and memorable narrative. Part 2 continues the story from a fundamentalist perspective, including the city of Enoch and the city of Salem, tying it all together with modern and ancient prophets.
Daniel Hatch joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of sixteen, beginning a lifelong commitment to discipleship and service. He later served a full time mission in the Geneva Switzerland Mission, laboring in both France and Switzerland. Upon returning home, he entered a career in law enforcement, serving as a patrol officer and eventually rising to the position of Patrol Division Commander. He also worked as a contract instructor at the Peace Officers Standards and Training Academy, helping prepare the next generation of officers.
Daniel’s dedication to service extended to the United States military. He served in both the United States Marine Corps Reserve and the Idaho Army National Guard, ultimately achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Two.
Throughout his life, Daniel has served in numerous callings within the LDS Church, including Junior Sunday School teacher, Gospel Doctrine teacher, High Priest Group instructor, and even Nursery Leader—each role embraced with humility and devotion.
His passion for teaching and his deep appreciation for scripture—especially the Book of Mormon and the writings of Isaiah—remain central to his life.
Among Daniel’s greatest joys are serving the Lord, teaching and blessing the lives of others.
