Description
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know award-winning Salt Lake Tribune humor columnist, author, and TikTok sensation Eli McCann for his hilarious and oft-times tender takes on growing up in (and leaving behind) the Mormon faith, coming out in adulthood, and raising a toddler as a Gay dad in Utah. Join Eli for a conversation about these and other themes found in his popular new book, We’re Thankful For the Moisture: A Gay Guy’s Guide to Mormon Faith, Family, and Fruit Preservation. And–in a special Sunstone exclusive!–McCann will be joined by the elusive man whose first-time encounters with Utah and Mormon culture have often inspired Eli’s work, his husband, Skylar Westerdahl. Moderated by Signature Books Director Barbara Jones Brown, the conversation and audience Q&A are sure to inform, inspire, and delight.
Eli McCann is a writer, podcaster, lawyer, and co-host of Strangerville, a storytelling podcast and live show. His work has been featured in The Washington Post, Newsweek, HuffPost, and the BBC. His first novel, Stitched, will release this September.
Originally from the Pacific northwest, Skylar Westerdahl is a practicing dermatologist and has lived in Salt Lake City with Eli McCann since 2016. They have an adorable toddler and two naughty dogs.
