I have a number of anecdotes in my story locker I’d like to air out, including: My impromptu 1966 conversation with Harold B. Lee; my Italy contacts with Ezra Taft Benson; the timorous interview I conducted of Boyd K. Packer; how I later got button-holed by Spencer W. Kimball (and the time I walked out on him); my confidential chat with LeGrand Richards and the time he and Marion Romney invited me to ordain a patriarch; my prescient prophecies to L. Tom Perry (and his later Q12 disclosure); and my astoundingly rude remark to Dallin Oaks.

Other amazing stories include: Accounts of my interviews and dinners with Hartman Rector, Jr.(end-of-mission interview, Language Training job firing, theological discussions, my church records, his anger at my excommunication, and his call to James E. Faust regarding my speaking at Daniel Rector’s funeral); my curious encounter with Bernard P. Brockbank, an assistant to the Twelve (a position now defunct); my lie to my California bishop so I could go on my mission to Italy; and the kindly, post-excommunication message Howard W. Hunter sent me through a friend of mine.
