I went to the Orem Temple open house and saw something very strange.
It’s in the marriage waiting room where there is a panoramic painting that seems to depict the Second Coming.
Here’s the lower left corner of the painting.
… and here’s the terrifying little girl staring RIGHT AT YOU!
Is that blood coming out of her eye?
Turns out that the original painting, by Michael Malm, is on display in the Conference Center. It’s called “Come Unto Jesus.” And the little girl has a bit more context.
Whether you’ve stumbled into a Hideo Nakata movie or a nice religious painting seems to all depend on how it’s cropped.
That is awesome!
